In Afghanistan, farmers are being shown alternatives to poppy growing. Among the initiatives is trying to increase animal stocks. At Gereskh in Nar-e Saraj, members of the Royal Army Veterinary Corps are overseeing a goat breeding programme and teaching basic skills to farmers.
