Apaches step up Libya effort 11.08.11
Dramatic footage has been released of one of the biggest air strikes against Gaddafi's forces since the campaign in Libya began.
The video, from an Apache helicopter shows the crew destroying a communications facility, armed vehicles and a Libyan frigate in Tripoli harbour with Hellfire missiles.
The mission lasting 40 minutes is by far one of the biggest involving UK personnel to date.
Members of the regime's forces can also be seen fleeing the attack.
Tornado's deployed from RAF Marham have also been in action.
The aircraft launched a series of missiles at command bunkers in the Sahara desert, 700 kilometres south of Tripoli.
