God i LOVE Christmas levels in games
I have taken note of the following text, please confirm:
In this level, there's an effect that runs through the entire game. I must talk about it because during the game recording, the audio mixing was bad. In the beginning, when I was admiring it, it was hard to hear. Therefore, I will briefly summarize it here.
The Borealis was made using a simple trick, but it was done so well that I couldn't help but marvel at it. It's an animated layer that doesn't move with an animated transparent layer that moves side to side by 4 pixels, which creates a Quasi 3D effect.
I love Christmas-themed levels in video games. One that comes to mind immediately is Banjo Kazooie. Sonic the Hedgehog DLC for the original Sega Dreamcast release of Sonic Adventures also has a Christmas-themed level. Many Mega Man levels have snow themes, which make me feel like I am in a Christmas wonderland. The Donkey Kong Country games have beautiful soundtracks for all their ice caverns and snow areas. I should play those games again; they are really good.
Sonic games, in particular, have fun with snow levels. Sonic 3 and Sonic Advance have really enjoyable snow levels, each with a snowboarding section that's super fun. Sonic Adventures took the snowboarding section and made it kind of not fun, but it's still exciting to watch. The Sega Genesis also had many snow levels, like Arrow the Acrobat and Ristar, which had snow levels. I don't think Bob the Robot had a snow level because the game takes place in outer space, and it's mostly industrial factory settings. However, I think Vectorman 2 had a snow level.
