Initially developed as "The Sacrifice" for the Ludum Dare 33: You Are The Monster game jam, The Shrouded Isle is an atmospheric cult management simulator created by Jongwoo Kim, Erica Lahaie, Fracois-Xavier Bilodeau, and Tanya Short. Players take on the role of a High Priest as they balance the opinions of five influential families with the tenets of their religion. Each season, one member of the community must be chosen as sacrifice to appease the dark god Chernobog until his return.
For nearly five hundred years, we have prepared for the coming of He Who Sleeps Beneath the Waves. House Kegnni, ensuring safety from knowledge of the old world. House Iosefka, erecting burning monuments to His greatness. House Efferson, punishing those among us who stray from the path. House Cadwell, denying us that which would tempt us towards sinful decadence. House Blackborn, keeping peace throughout the village. Yet none are without vice, and Lord Chernobog hungers for sacrifice..
