(Updated audio 1/2022) For an entire console generation we took the $59.99 price point for granted, but it appears that change may be on the horizon. Buried within the plethora of announcements regarding the newest iteration of NBA2K was this little innocuous nugget of previously undisclosed information… The PS5 and Xbox Series X versions of the game will retail at $69.99, a full $10 higher than the current standard retail price for new release games.

Now it is a little too early to assume that ALL games for these next-gen consoles will adopt this price point, but it is also a very safe guess that this may become the “new normal” for those of us looking forward to indulging in Halo:Infinite, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, or any of the other titles that have been revealed during their respective developer’s showcase.
