Golden Axe was good, no question. Golden Axe: The Revenge of Death Adder is great. Running off of Sega's System 32 hardware, this four-player brawler looks as good as it plays. It's such a smooth ride from start to finish. I hesitate to use the word mellow, what with the viking ship ramming, fire-breathing mantises, and cannibalistic stone masons, but it's just so relaxing. Or it could just be that we were both really, really tired by this point, which would explain the geriatric rants that proceed our play-through.
