Game Description
Golf is one of the early sports titles developed by Atari.
It loosely follows the rule of the sports of the same name. The player must clear nine holes by scoring the lowest score possible. The number of points is actually the number of times you strike the ball. The goal is to strike the ball as much as the par of a hole or less than it.
There is one golf course in the game, and the global par is 36 strikes.
Striking the ball is unique to this game. Instead of the implementation of later golf game, Golf is based on the angle in which you strike the ball. The player’s golfer will always point his stick at the ball, and turning around it will adjust the angle that the ball will go after being strike.
Various obstacles, such as trees, water pool and sand trap are placed in each hole. The ball will bounce on the first two if not enough power is given, and will be stuck in the sand trap until it is struck again.
Once the ball approach the green, a close-up of actual hole is seen, and the player must user its putter to bring the ball in it. It is also possible to strike ball into the hole without going in close-up mode, but this requires a precise angle and a precise shot.
Golf Playthrough
The original version of golf is used in this playthrough. The goal is to strike below the par as much as possible. Although it is possible to get into the hole without going in close-up, this specific area was shown for most holes except the eighth one due to the precise angle that might require an extra shot instead of doing it at the close-up.
TAS tools were used in this playthrough.
