The first hour is just upgrading cards until I run out of things. Then it's just showing off a bunch of Tag Duels with my speedy Gaia auto-duel deck. Followed by some dabbling in Ranked by meme-ing with Sevens Road. And finally, doing Raids with a cobbled deck until my phone died (apparently). I was going to do Challenges after and end with going through the card / duelist database, but oh well.

While flawed, Cross Duel was a fun effort and I hate seeing it go to waste. So many 3D monster models, nice icon art, fun normal monster texts, and a unique approach that reminds me of playing the old spin-off games like DDM.

Unfortunately, it's a poorly designed gacha game that somehow lost money despite the yugioh brand and anime theming, featuring a lack of effort to course-correct on Konami's part. Concerns on monetization, gameplay pacing, performance and stability, and event variety went unaddressed as Konami auto-piloted the game until announcing its closure less than a year from release. Hilariously, I can see the icon reward for logging in for 360 days - which will forever be unattainable.

At least we got an icon out of it. Hopefully people can recreate the game somehow, its assets and ideas deserved better. Let this be a reminder how Konami might treat Duel Links or Master Duel if those begin to underperform. Pretty funny to think I'm uploading this to the same channel that I uploaded my final gameplay footage of Darkspore so many years ago, before that had shut down too.
