GPU Price Crash Incoming? - Price & Stock Update
So if you want to learn more, be sure to click the link in the description below. Okay, so the RTX 50 series has been in short supply and very high demand for months on end and well, the prices have gotten out of control. But recently we got some information. This is actually coming from WCCF tech that apparently quote, "Trump's reciprocal tariffs have reportedly excluded PCs and smartphone imports, a major sigh of relief for the consumer market."

And if you want to read more, I'll have it linked in the description below. But suffice it to say, this is a really huge deal if you're in the US and you're trying to buy a graphics card because well, from what I've been told from many different people is that for a little while now, they actually haven't been ordering new GPUs or have been significantly reducing their orders because there's been a lot of uncertainty as to whether or not they'll be able to essentially make money selling these things if the price to import them goes way, way up.

Which is what these tariffs would essentially cause. And they also don't know how much people are going to be willing to pay for them as they would, yes, have to raise the prices significantly if they ordered a ton of GPUs and then all of a sudden somebody's got to pay a ton in tariffs. So yes, this has led to a major reduction in the supply of GPUs at least recently. Now, the beginning of the issues started because they just didn't order enough as well and there was way more demand than anyone expected, both from Nvidia as well as AMD. But it sounds like now the GPUs and other electronics might actually be excluded.

Although that's still a bit up in the air as things seem to be changing on a day by day basis. But as of right now, it looks like at the very least there's going to be a pause on the tariffs for electronics. So yes, there should be a massive reduction in the price as well as a massive increase in shipments that are going to be coming in. But is this going to be enough to actually cause a "price crash" and finally get you those GPUs at their MSRP? Well, I've been tracking GPU prices for quite some time.

In fact, since the release of the RTX 50 series, let's go ahead and analyze that data to figure out when you'll be able to buy a GPU at MSRP. So if we take a look here at this chart that I've gone ahead and thrown together, we can see here at the release of the RTX 5090 and 5080 that roughly the 5090 was being sold for $3,000 in just under $2,000 for the RTX 5080. However, it actually spikes up a bit somewhere around early February. So it seems like end of January, people were expecting that you wouldn't pay over $3,000 for 5090.
