Trigger your shield as you transition from the high speed zone to the next stage just as the screen fades to black. The shield is now glitched and you can take a few extra hits but if you lose the shield, then take another one, you should now be invincible against all enemy shots. You can still die by crashing into walls or certain enemy sprites. You'll know the glitch is in place when you lose your 2nd shield as the ? will no longer appear on the power up bar.
