When you Game Over, hold UP right through the name entry. When the title screen appears, Kuma-chan will apeear on screen for a couple of seconds. During his appearance, insert a credit (you can't already have a credit in the machine) and press Start. You'll begin with 3 lives in reserve rather than 2.
