These are ports of the arcade versions, and now people worldwidecould finally experience THE Gradius III. It's definitely easier this time. But may still be hell if playing on Easy or higher. That's why I like playing on easiest.
Gradius III has a stage select, as well as some unlockable extras. See for yourself.
Gradius IV has a boss rush mode, where you can fight all the bosses in order, except for the final bosses. Now all the bosses are on parade.
