Hey everyone. This is a speedrun concept I came up with many years ago and ran through a couple times. While I don't have that much skill nor tech to work with, it isn't stopping me from coming up with stuff to play around with in my favorite games. My dream is for this to become a legit category for speedrunners to try out. Without further ado... I present the concept of the Escudo% Speedrun.

Time Taken: 31:54:507 (Based on Real Time Attack, not In-Game Time)

Rules I used: Escudo% (w/ Licenses at start)
Obtain the Suzuki Pikes Peak Escudo
Time starts when hitting Start Game on the Main Menu with save file loaded.
Time ends when the "Escudo Pikes peak Version purchased." screen is displayed.
Loaded save file must contain the following at start:
- All Licenses up to I-A
- 6 Days + 10,000CR displayed at the start
- No License Prizes allowed.

I did think of the other, more... uhh... "Professional" Speedrun category if you were wondering. Below is what I could come up with.

Rules: Escudo% (No Licenses at start, obviously)
Obtain the Suzuki Pikes Peak Escudo.
Time starts when hitting Start Game on the Main Menu.
Time ends when the "Escudo Pikes Peak Version purchased." screen is displayed.
(License Prize(s) & No License Prizes sub-categories applicable)
Emulators are banned. (For official Speedrun.com runs)

Now the last few things to explain.
#1. I'm using an emulator for this, hence the unofficial in the title. In all "official" GT2 Speedruns, (as defined by/for Speedrun.com) Emulators are banned.
#2. I do have a working PS2 and 2 copies of GT2, but no able-bodied tech to capture any footage.
#3. I'm demonstrating the run after you get the licenses, which likely wouldn't be allowed on an "official" stance as is. Plus, I suck at license tests and have a lot less fun when doing them.
#4. My wish, hope, dream, whatever you want to call it, is to see someone perform this speedrun (preferably the "No License Variant") on real hardware and have it become another run the GT2 community can have some fun chasing. In the end, I'm just looking to have fun with GT2 again.

Okay, I think I've covered everything I needed to. Enjoy the run and lemme know of your GT2 endeavors.
