Gran Turismo 2, upon its release, wound up with FOUR different general versions, not counting specific region variations. This intro is of the version 1.1 and the Greatest Hits/v1.2 revisions of Gran Turismo 2 for North America; v1.0 for North America contained a differently edited version of the song featured here.

As is customary for the Gran Turismo games, the Japanese version makes use of Moon Over the Castle, the European version makes use of a remix of The Cardigans' My Favourite Game remixed by Faithless, and the American version(s) make use of the original version of My Favourite Game; difference is, with this version, it's the original song played until the fadeout of the FMV, while the original version made use of a chopped up version to better fit the FMV.

Oh, and quite fittingly, the album My Favourite Game comes off of is titled Gran Turismo. Yay! That album was released in 1998.
