Gran Turismo 3: Concept Mod (2024 PRE-RELEASE DEMO BUILD) Gameplay Showcase #1 (developed by Misuka)
This is the publicly available 2024 pre-release demo build of the GT3: Concept mod by Misuka
The mod is not complete yet, and as far as I'm aware has no set final release date currently.
This mod adds all of the cars from GT Concept 2002 Tokyo-Geneva, a few GT4 Prologue cars (IIRC), some new tracks (Autumn Ring has been ported over from GT Concept, and Fuji and Tsukuba have been ported over from a couple of limited run GT3 demos), and I also kept some replays in the video to show off that the 3D wheels from the menu screens are on the in-race car models in this mod too.
Yes, I took advantage of the 999,999,999cr the build starts you off with and bought some of the extra cars early. Considering this is mostly a bite-sized demo (anything past Amateur League DTM championship isn't fully ready yet), I'm not gonna be playing it in a super legit way, ESPECIALLY considering the the save file isn't going to be compatible with the final release. I'll do an actual legitimate no-cheese playthrough once the proper release build comes out.
Normally I turn licensed in-game soundtracks off for my YouTube videos but I wanted to show off the expanded soundtrack which is another addition to the mod, which combines songs from GT3's NTSC and PAL soundtracks alongside some classics from GT1 and GT2 PAL. So I just turned off the songs that would have given me any major copyright issues (*cough* Stone Free cough anything else older than 1990 cough and also Are You Gonna Go My Way just to be extra safe *cough*) and left the rest of the music on.
Overall, I'm enjoying the mod. I like that the adjusted tire physics make it so I have to be more precise with my throttle through corners and I can't just full send it like vanilla GT3. I like the updated font size in the menus, I think the colour change in the Garage screen is sick af, I REALLY like the new dealership images, and it's really nice actually having Autumn Ring in GT3. Autumn Ring is probably my absolute favourite GT original track, it's just so good and flows so well.
One bug to report is that the race on Apricot Hill Reverse in Beginner MR Challenge had glitchy AI, evidenced in this video. I had to go buy an R390 to win that race due to how bad the glitched AI was there.
Honestly, the only complaints I have are both Vitz related lmao. The Vitz RS 1.5 isn't eligible for the Vitz Race for one. That was certainly a uhhh...... a choice. Vitz RS 1.5 is LITERALLY A VITZ, why can't it be used?
Also, removing the Pink Vitz as the FF Challenge prize car was kinda lame. I get the vision, and I 100% support the reshuffling of the prize cars. But don't touch the only GT meme car that actually matters, you know what I mean?
But tbf the Pink Vitz one IS just a nitpick and it doesn't diminish my enjoyment of the mod in any way. The Vitz RS 1.5 not being eligible in the Vitz Race tho........ that's an egregiously bad design choice but it's the only bad design choice I've come across so far. Mod overall is still pretty damn good.
