Its breathtakingly fresh and futuristic design was so well penned, the Lamborghini Countach was the company's first supercar unleashed onto the world all the way back at the 1971 Geneva Motor Show. The original show car, the LP500, remained just that, as the Countach didn't actually go into production until three years later with the launch of the LP400. This was far and away the closest car to the radical original design concept, and only about 150 of this model were ever made.
Through the years, and LP400S and LP500S went into production and, in 1985, a 5000 Quattrovalve, setting its sights directly onto Ferrari's refreshingly-styled Testarossa, was released. This Countach featured four valves per cylinder to its boisterous V12 that was increased in displacement to 5.2 liters, its maximum power output now reaching a ceiling of 448 HP.
The very last car model in the series was the 25th Anniversary Lamborghini Countach, released in 1988. This model celebrated Lamborghini's 25th year as an automobile manufacturer and had roughly the same specs as the 5000 Quattrovalve, but with the addition of some extra stylized exterior bits and a new rear bumper due to safety regulations. This version was also the best-selling Countach over the course of this Italian wild child's full production run, which ended in 1990 at 657 units.

This is a duel between the first generation of the Lamborghini Countach (the LP400 from 1974) and the very last generation (the 25th Anniversary from 1988), in the fast circuit of Le Mans, where they both can show their full power.
On one side, we have a fully upgraded LP400, with 594 BHP and only 873 Kg. On the other side, we have a 25th Anniversary edition, also fully upgraded, but with an unbeatable feature (in theory): an engine swap from a modern Aventador, pushing the power way up to 1016 BHP, while the weight is pushed down to 1162 Kg! :P
Impossible as it may seem, by the looks of these figures, this will be a very tight fight... The old LP400 will show that age and less impressive performance figures mean nothing when the whole machine itself is way ahead of its time! ;)

Check out the individual video I made previously for LP400's opponent in this race:
