Step 1) Restart Steam, Restart PC
Step 2) Connect your controller before launching the game, disconnect your controller, launch the game and then reconnect your controller
Step 3) Enable Steam Input
Step 4) Remove Controller from Windows Bluetooth Settings and pair it again
Step 5) Run the game exe as an administrator
Step 6) Avoid Using Alt + Tab
Step 7) PS5 Controller users: Try using DS4windows/reWASD application
Step 8) For few players- old version of Game Input Service is conflicting with a newer version for controller inputs. Follow the instructions from this video to remove older version of Game Input service, restart your PC and then check

Step 9) Disable Steam Input, now go to Steam Controller Settings and enable Steam Input for Xbox/PlayStation Controllers- restart the game
Step 10) Make sure to disconnect other peripherals such as mouse/keyboard, additional joystick, controllers. Unplug Razer Tartarus, Unplug VR/Windows Mixed Reality Headsets, disconnect all the additional USB adapter connected to PC, disconnect if you have any virtual controller connected (Vjoy etc.), disable/uninstall them
Step 11) Launch Steam in big picture mode and then launch the game.
Step 12) Use wired controller
