S.Babu (along with S.Shiva) was the final summer SSR released this year, and I really hoped to get her because I like her a lot. Fortunately, she came home on the 300th roll of my Summer Kumbhira spark.

She is basically a water version of wind Yurius, except better. They have the same skill 1 which inflicts stackable 10% ATK/DEF down plus another debuff at the cost of 10 charge bar. However, the Delay and Dispel are built into S.Babu's charge attack, rather than active skills.

Instead, she has an amazing S2 which provides a 3-turn cut to water allies' skill cooldowns at the cost of 5-turn Summonless debuff (irremovable). A partywide 3-turn cooldown cut is very handy, as any Lobelia user can attest to. Summonless can be an issue, but if used when the party is already affected by Summonless, then there's zero downside. The skill does have the drawback of a lengthy 11 turn cooldown.

S.Babu's S3 is also incredible because it is guaranteed to apply Subjugated, a 1 turn local debuff which acts as a true paralysis. As of now it blocks all normal attacks, special attacks, and even omens in V2 raids (omens will still carryover to the next turn). As one would expect, the cooldown is long (11 turns), but S2 can be used to speed it up a bit.

S.Babu's passive/support skills are also ridiculously good. Passive 1 provides her a 30% boost to ATK (perpetuity mod), 30% faster charge gain, and guaranteed double attacks. It does have one big demerit: a 20% hit to max HP. S.Babu will be comparatively squishy compared to her allies due to having significantly less HP, but this can be mitigated with garrison weapon skills for Varuna players. Passive skill 2 is obscene: S.Babu has boosted C.A. specs depending on the number of debuffs on the foe, and at 10 or more debuffs she has C.A. reactivation. Recall that S.Babu's charge attack effect is Dispel and Delay. That's doubled with C.A. reactivation, which means S.Babu is powerful for keeping foes delayed and removing their buffs.

Some obvious teammates for S.Babu are Vajra and Feower. Vajra's S1 makes it easier to land debuffs, and the charge bar gain from her C.A. buff will help S.Babu C.A. more frequently or use S1 more. Vajra also has Dispel on her charge attack, so the two of them can easily strip enemy buffs. Feower applies debuffs so S.Babu can reach the C.A. reactivation threshold easier, and he has Delay on his own C.A. so the two of them can Delay spam a foe. I don't have Grand Poseidon myself, but I hear he works very well with S.Babu. Unfortunately, Lily and S.Babu have the same race category (Other—a catch-all category for characters who don't fit in any of the others) so Lily loses some effectiveness when they're together.

Surprisingly, S.Babu isn't a bad option for full auto mode despite not using her S1 in it. While it's unlikely she'll meet the threshold for C.A. reactivation, her C.A. is plenty valuable for Delay + Dispel. S2's Summonless has no downside in full auto mode, and S.Babu doesn't need outside help because she comes with guaranteed DA and 30% ATK boost.

Overall, S.Babu is meta defining for water teams in high difficulty content, particularly solos. Her utility is through the roof, such as her ability to double Delay with charge attacks. Her only weakness is relatively low HP. In my opinion she's currently one of the three best water characters in the game, alongside Vajra and perhaps G.Poseidon.

tl;dr S.Babu says "hentai" in battle, so she's top tier.
