Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas - The Definitive Edition Playthrough Part #26: Putting and End to This
As CJ and Sweet have been putting in work reclaiming territory and putting Grove Street back on the map, Sweet finds out that Big Smoke has been hiding in the penthouse of a drug compound in Los Flores or East Los Santos. It turns out that it's a warehouse and an old apartment building with Smoke living atop it all. Once the time comes, CJ and Sweet go to finally end Big Smoke for everything he's done against them. When they arrive at the compound, CJ declares that he needs to go in there and do it himself to atone for being a buster in the past regarding letting Brian die and leaving to Liberty City when his family needed him. CJ goes through three floors filled with drug producers, Ballas, and Vagos gang members, eventually reaching the top and confronting Smoke, who appears to not care about his life anymore because he "made it". Smoke realizes that CJ is there to kill him, and in a shootout, CJ severely wounds Smoke. In a heart-to-heart conversation before succumbing to his wounds, Smoke reveals that he felt he needed to do what he did and that he felt the drugs and turning against the gang was best for him. As Smoke dies, Tenpenny enters the penthouse, telling CJ that he's going to drive a firetruck to the airport to disappear until the riots are over because he, as a cop, is in danger. Tenpenny takes a briefcase full of Smoke's money and gets ready to leave, attempting to kill CJ beforehand. CJ distracts Tenpenny, and hides, angering him, causing him to destroy the equipment in the factory, leading to the whole place coming down. As CJ escapes, Sweet sees Tenpenny go into the firetruck and grabs onto the ladder, forcing CJ to trail behind the firetruck in case Sweet loses his grip. A fellow officer comes out of the truck, climbs onto the ladder, and stamps on Sweet's hands, forcing CJ to drive close and catch Sweet when he loses his grip. With the ensuing chase and rioters throwing molotovs and shooting, the police begin to chase CJ and the truck. CJ switches off with Sweet and rides shotgun, taking care of the heat while Sweet trails Tenpenny. When they reach the bridge above Ganton, Tenpenny loses control and crashes the firetruck. Tenpenny eventually succumbs to his injuries and dies right on Grove Street. Now with all of their problems out of the way, the Johnsons and their associates relax in the Johnson house, where Sweet says they need to take care of stuff in Los Santos first before dealing with problems with their other ventures in San Fierro or Las Venturas. Madd Dogg comes into the house with Rosenburg, Kent, and Maccer to announce that the new album has been certified gold before saying that they're going on tour. With all the commotion, CJ goes toward the door, which makes Kendl ask where he's going. CJ answers that he's going to hit the streets and see what's going on.
