And here's the big one. I'll have to admit it took more than one try to take it down. Sometimes it simply can't be helped. This boss needs only one opportunity to lay out the whole party. Leviathan has some sick, SICK chains and causes heavy stun if the AI chooses correctly. In particular: Suck In, Twin Typhoon, Zap, swipe, Zap All, Zap...

...or I'd just screw up. Twin Typhoon can hit more than once as either a juggle or a clean second pass. Pretty much instant death at my levels.

My main problem in this one? I brought loads of MP recovery, but only one SP recovery item (dur dur durr). Oops. I'm still able to maximize what's left to good effect. It's just enough to make my first critical move of the battle: chop off that right tentacle. It absolutely must go ASAP. Zap spam is not fun, regardless of how I made it look on the way up the tower. Removing a tentacle has the additional bonus of turning Twin Typhoon into a much less threatening Single Typhoon. Keeping the boss pinned down while dealing heavy damage to the right arm is tense work, but I manage.

Justin gets mashroomized early on to make the cleaving faster while serving as Vanish bait for the boss core. Once the first tentacle is disposed of, you'll see me take a much more cautious approach. I even overheal a few times.

Look at the sick range on that left tentacle swipe.

In a bit of luck, Rapp says bai bai to the party and evades at around 7:10 to completely dodge two Twin Typhoons. Suckers.
