You are a disgraced priest of the Orthogonal Order, exiled for a crime committed in defense of another. Left to drift on a small boat, you find yourself arriving at what may be the most depressing village in history.
Graven is a dark fantasy Retro-Style FPS with fantastic graphics and atmosphere. However, the gameplay falls into the midcore category.
The starting weapons in the game are extremely weak, and the magic spells only have environmental effects such as electrifying water or setting flammable objects on fire. While it is possible to upgrade weapons and magic, the costs for these upgrades are ridiculously high, such as 3000 gold, and the effects are minimal. The income in the game is heavily influenced by randomness, and discovering secrets often only yields around 500 gold, making it challenging to balance resources. Additionally, I am curious why the map function was removed, as it was present in the early access version…
By the way, every time you start up the game, you are returned to the beginning of the map. The "checkpoints" are only utilized when you die… I would rate it 7/10.
