In this part, Ryunosuke does a second summation examination. Juror 6 says he once opened a window when a room was full of smoke, while Juror 3 says no one would open a window. Ryunosuke pits them against each other, arguing that the Garridebs opened the window to clear away the smoke from the fire. Juror 4 confirms that was the case.

Juror 5 talks about his wife, throwing things at him. When Juror 4 talks about throwing things, that triggers Juror 5's memory. He remembers having a knife thrown at him. He says that women will throw anything, when they're mad. Ryunosuke pits this against Juror 2's question, of how the victim was stabbed. It's possible the knife was thrown out the window and hit the victim, in the same way the Garrideb's book was thrown out the window and landed by the victim.

Van Zieks is quick to dismiss this as a ridiculous idea. The crime scene is fifteen yards away from the Garrideb's house.
