I bought two of these pie plates because I use them for lots of cooking needs. I almost never make pies, but I use these for warming food in the oven, making nachos, anything that requires putting food in a hot oven. They are almost indestructible if you don't do something stupid like taking the plate out of a hot oven and running cold water in it--it will self-destruct! I broke my last Pyrex pie plate when a heavy object fell out of the kitchen cabinet, landed in the plate, and cracked it. I had it for nearly 15 years before its untimely death.
