Greatest mysteries of space
Space is a true cosmic puzzle, and even with all the modern technology, there are still questions that leave scientists scratching their heads. Here are some of the biggest mysteries that continue to intrigue humanity:
Dark matter – We know it exists because it affects the gravity of galaxies, but no one knows what it’s made of. It makes up about 27% of the universe.
Dark energy – Even more mysterious, this invisible force appears to be accelerating the expansion of the universe. And it makes up about 68% of everything that exists.
What was there before the Big Bang? – This question is almost philosophical. Some scientists, like Stephen Hawking, suggest that time and space began with the Big Bang, so there would be no “before” in the traditional sense.
Black holes – We know they exist and that nothing escapes their gravity, not even light. But what happens inside them is still a profound mystery.
Are we alone in the universe? – With billions of galaxies and trillions of planets, it seems unlikely that we are unique. But so far, no clear signs of extraterrestrial life have been detected.
