GREEN LANTERN: In honor of Deadpool 2, we break the Sammy Ain’t Seen Shit rules by taking on a 7 year old film and Ryan Reynold’s first attempt at being a superhero with the DC flop “Green Lantern!” Will Sammy wear an all CG suit? Will Ian scream like an absolute bonkers madman? FIND OUT TONIGHT!
Green Lantern is a 2011 American superhero film based on the DC Comics character of the same name. The film stars Ryan Reynolds (Hal Jordan), Blake Lively (Carol Ferris), Peter Sarsgaard (Dr. Hector Hammond), Mark Strong (Sinestro), and Angela Bassett (Dr. Amanda Waller)
The film tells the story of Hal Jordan, a test pilot who is selected to become the first human member of the Green Lantern Corps. Hal is given a ring that grants him superpowers, and must confront Parallax, who threatens to upset the balance of power in the universe. Most people would have preferred Jon Stewart as Green Lantern, or maybe even Guy Gardner or Kyle Rayner.
The first starring role in a superhero movie for Ryan Reynolds, he not only learned from his mistakes with this film, but parodied this film numerous times in both the first Deadpool movie and 2018's Deadpool 2!
