Gremlins finally gets the green light and grabs up Seth Grahame-Smith to produce.
Now, a Gremlins reboot has been rumored for several years. And as we reported to you back in January, one of the main issues in actually getting this project off the ground was due to Steven Spielberg's attachment to the original film. Spielberg produced the original, and contractually would have to give Warner Bros permission if a new movie was to be made. And we're not exactly sure how that all panned out, but Bloody Disgusting is reporting that Warner Bros is now, in fact, moving forward with the project, AND has tapped Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg to produce. Seth Grahame-Smith most recently wrote the script for the Tim Burton directed comedy, Dark Shadows and is slatted to take the reins as producer on the new Beetle Juice sequel for Warner Bros, alongside Katzenberg as well. There isn't any word on if Grahame-Smith or Katzenberg will write the script, and we still haven't heard anything about a possible director, so there is still a long way to go before more develops on this remake. Many of you expressed your, shall I say, lack of excitement for a new Gremlins movie, but does having the Grahame-Smith and Katzenberg make you feel any better? Or worse? Let us know what you think about this down below, and sub to our channel so we can give you future Gremlins updates as soon as they happen. Thanks for watching us here.
