After waffling back and forth for awhile, I bought Gris for the flight to GDC last month. The dreamy watercolor art direction drew me in, as did citing Journey and Ori as its main two influences. It's a steadily-paced passage through the five stages of grief after the title character experiences tragedy, and it really began to win me over in the final stages - beautiful to look at, beautiful to listen to, let me get lost in my thoughts as I played.

The ending of the game, in particular Gris' singing, is what affected me to the point of covering this theme. Normally I try to transform a little bit more beyond the original source material, but this time wasn't an exercise in my creativity, it was a personal catharsis.

Disclaimer, I have zero training as a singer (and probably hurt myself in this process), but there was no way I was gonna use a sample library for this, haha :)

Thank you as always for listening!!
