Ground Master (PowerVR exclusive) by NEC Home Electronics, Ltd., 1996.
Now here's something you've probably not seen; it's a demo for the Japanese NEC 3D Engine PowerVR graphics card. The PowerVR cards were an early alternative to 3Dfx, but never really took off, and the tech eventually went into the Sega Dreamcast, and later, mobile phones.
This demo appears to have been made for the PCX1 original line of PowerVR cards from 1996, hence has no bilinear filtering, and is quite flickery, when running on my Matrox M3D PCX2 PowerVR graphics card. There's not a lot to talk about here, it's a simple rally-style game with 2 stages and 4 cars (with and without manual gearbox). As it has checkpoints and a high score table based on fastest runs, it's rally enough for me!
This capture was made via a VGA-to-HDMI/cheap convertor, hence isn't quite as sharp as my regular videos, as the Matrox M3D is running on an old Pentium 4 with an ATi Rage Pro for 2D graphics.
