Yes, Grounded 2 will indeed have a more relaxed update cadence compared to the first Grounded game. Instead of frequent, smaller updates, the developers are planning on releasing larger content drops every four to five months. This shift is a result of the team learning from their experience with the original Grounded, where monthly updates were deemed "a hassle" and not well-received by either the community or the developers themselves.
Obsidian has confirmed in a recent interview that Grounded 2's content updates will be much more spaced out than in the first game, but there's a good reason for it.
Less Frequent, More Substantial Updates:The team is prioritizing delivering significant content updates, rather than frequent, smaller patches.
Improved Development Process:This approach is intended to create a more sustainable and enjoyable development experience for the team
Obsidian Entertainment's upcoming single-player or co-op survival game Grounded 2 will follow a new update cycle that focuses on bigger content drops instead of frequent smaller patches, as revealed by the game director.
The announcement was just the start of the surprises, though, as it was also revealed that Grounded 2 is going to be launching in Early Access in just a few weeks on July 29. Even though the Early Access release schedule is familiar to Grounded fans, it seems it'll be rather different from the first game.
