GTA III - Obtaining Unique RC Bandit (Outside Garage Version)
Time Stamps:
00:00 - Failing "Toyminator" whilst obtaining the Unique RC Bandit
04:20 - Showing off the Unique RC Bandit
This Method will work EXACTLY as shown on PS2, Xbox, PC, Mobile, and Definitive Edition since all of these Platforms/Versions allow the Method shown in the Video.
Once I get the RC Bandit back to the area of the Safehouse, I save, reload, teleport into the RC Bandit, teleport out of the RC Bandit, then save, and reload again. This is mandatory for all Platforms and Versions! Without saving/reloading and then entering a random Vehicle to park on top of the RC Bandit, you won't be able to EXIT said Vehicle. Saving the game and then reloading the game removes that so when you finally do enter a random Vehicle, you CAN EXIT IT after parking it on top of the RC Bandit.
In order to be able to leave the Toyz Van and fail the Mission as shown in the Video is done by HOLDING the HORN BUTTON before entering it and then quickly exiting it. If done successful, Claude will have entered, exited, and the Mission will have failed whilst still being able to control the RC Bandit on foot back to the Garage. I've heard multiple reports that holding the Horn Button isn't even a requirement. In BOTH cases, know that you WON'T ALWAYS leave the Toyz Van for whatever reason. Just reload and try again if that happens, of course.
The RC Bandit does NOT count as a Vehicle by a Garage and it's Marked. This is why it remains anywhere on your Map, even after saving/reloading as well as allowing you to enter as many other Vehicles in the process. Technically speaking, you could obtain 13 Special Vehicles, plus having this RC Bandit Version outside of the Garage as your 14th in the same Save, however, I still don't recommend that!
You absolutely MUST teleport IN and OUT of the RC Bandit to prevent the game from crashing, unless you play on the Definitive Edition. Opening/Closing door aminations will NOT crash the game when playing on the Definitive Edition, but you STILL NEED TO teleport into the RC Bandit the very first initial time for Claude to enter it. Once he enters it, you can casually exit it, anywhere, anytime.
DO NOT PRESS the button to shoot a Weapon UNTIL Claude has teleported into the RC Bandit! Doing this before teleporting into the RC Bandit will result in the game to crash!
It's advised to hold off with "Toyminator" as long as possible! For instance, I heard reports of the RC Bandit actually vanishing on people when they would cross Islands and come back later on! This is why when going to 100% and wanting this RC Bandit, you should do EVERYTHING possible for 100% except for "The Exchange" and the remaining handful of Payphone Missions in Shoreside Vale. After passing these remaining handful of Missions and reaching 100%, just save the game in Shoreside Vale, right next to the Marked RC Bandit! Your chances of losing it will be slim to none at this point!
Fun Fact - For ALL Platforms and Versions EXCEPT FOR the Definitive Edition, the RC Bandit will appear exactly as you see in the Video. If you play on the Definitive Edition, the RC Bandit will actually spawn in Traffic Default Colors every time the Mission is started and you come into contact with the RC Bandit. Taking the RC Bandit into a Pay and Spray also has NO EFFECT unless you play on Definitive Edition where you'll be able to see each Traffic Default Color given by the Pay and Spray just like the Mission itself!
Fun Fact 2 - Note that if you play on the Definitive Edition, there is a really annoying and horrible bug with the Shoreside Vale Garage. I didn't mention this in the previous Video Descriptions, so now is my chance. If you play on the Definitive Edition, know that at ANY STAGE during the time from 0% to 100% and anywhere in between, when you arrive to the Shoreside Vale Garage, the BLUE Garage door will open and the two RED Garage doors will remain closed. This is TEMPORARY and when you RELOAD, it CAN BE FIXED, but sometimes it still WON'T BE FIXED! It's very problematic when you have a fully packed Garage and need to move stuff around! I also heard of this kind of thing happening on Mobile, but it's VERY RARE unlike VERY COMMON for the Definitive Edition.
I am recording this Video on PCSX2 Version 1.6.0. Game Version is SLUS-20062 (Version 1.40) of GTA III for PS2.
