GTA IV on Core i5 2400S & R5 340X GDDR3
4Recently put together a cheap and cheerful computer for my mam to play old games, and I was just curious as to how this video card would run this game.
This "video card" - display adapter more like 😅 - Can run GTA IV quite nicely, have to say. Pleasantly surprised me
Don't get me wrong, it's fine for older games, but as shown in the case of a Crash Bandicoot N Sane trilogy video shared recently, linked below, it's no good for new-ish games, not by a long shot, unless you're ok to play it at basically original XBOX resolution 🥴😝

A person commenting reminded me of one key detail to the gameplay recorded in this video, cheers. As follows:
This game's version is the 1.0.3.0. I read that's the most hardware friendly version, you know, for lesser hardware. If you've updated your version of GTA IV to 1.0.8.0 with the Rockstar Game Launcher for example, it'll lag quite a bit more. It's more convenient with the Rockstar Games Launcher, but won't run as good. Varies hardware to hardware, but as a general rule, version 1.0.3.0 is better for some reason 😉

One other thing. For some reason, I couldn't get XBOX Game Bar to record with this AMD card, so had to use FRAPS free version, which only allows 30 seconds recording at a time. So if you notice some dodgy looking jump cuts every so often, bear that in mind please 😜

2.5" SATA SSD
Windows 10 Pro
As you might expect, the framerate was a little bit better while not recording with FRAPS.
