Here, Pathos is unlocked as a random character encounter for his first encounter after the storyline mission "The Puerto Rican Connection", located north of the Burger Shot in Star Junction, available for 24 hours in-game time.
Niko encounters Pathos, who is an aspiring rapper selling his self-released album to people. During the talk, some rival thugs walk by and insult him and his music. He takes exception and takes off to go after the thugs and defend his honor. Niko runs after Pathos, who is chasing the hecklers into an alleyway across from Star Junction and kills the two hecklers. Pathos thanks him for his help that he promises to mention him in his song.
The second encounter is available after the same storyline mission and the first encounter. Pathos is found not too far from the location of the first encounter, near the large Sprunk sign next to the statue in Star Junction, available for 24 hours in-game time.
Niko encounters Pathos again. He is still struggling to make a big hit in the music scene and has a new CD. When Niko catches up with him, more hecklers walk by and aggravate Pathos to violence. He is shot by one of the two goons and once again, Niko assists by taking them down. After the shooting, he drives a seriously wounded Pathos to the nearest hospital. Upon arrival, he promises to thank Niko on his next album.
