The short story.

The character of the Driver represents death and punishment. He is one of many Angels of Death. (A grim reaper if you will).
When the night sets his soul purpose is to establish balance between death and life. Good and Evil. He takes the souls of those who define rules of Heaven and Hell. Being those Human or Supernatural the Driver will find them and perish their souls.
Rules are. Heaven will intervene giving guidance to Driver and Lucifer will assist to help the Driver
in his quest. All must bound to the rules of Human Nature and no Supernatural force is allowed while both sides are on earth.
Expect for Angels and Demons who possess a human beings as a vessel or rebel against Heaven or Hell. In this and many
cases the Driver will be responsible for their existence or their doom.
