Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is a third-person action-adventure game developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games, released in late 2002. Taking place in the fictional Vice City, which is based on 1980s Miami, the game follows the story of Tommy Vercetti, a former member of the Forelli crime family who is released from prison after a fifteen-year sentence. Tommy is sent to Vice City by his old boss to oversee a drug deal, but things go wrong, and he finds himself in trouble with the law and the city's criminal underworld. Tommy must complete various missions and tasks for different gangs and organizations to clear his name and take over Vice City's criminal empire. Along the way, Tommy encounters various characters, including corrupt politicians, rival gangs, and his former love interest. The game's story culminates in a final showdown with the game's antagonist, Sonny Forelli, where Tommy must use all his skills and allies to take down his old boss and become the kingpin of Vice City.
