GTR 2 - probably THE GT Simulation. Fondly remembered by pretty much everybody playing it back then, I've got to admit that I didn't play it that much, as I migrated over from F1C to rFactor once it arrived and as I mostly drove formula cars back then.
Featuring amazing stuff like two full seasons of the FIA GT championship, day-night cycles (which you can see in the video), dynamic weather, a driving school, online multiplayer driver changes and many things beyond that it is very feature rich, especially for its purpose.
Today we are driving the 24 hours of Spa 2003 - compressed into 24 minutes of racing. Our car is the #126 Zakspeed Chrysler Viper GTS-R featuring an 8 Liter V10 Engine and a six speed manual gearbox. The car belongs to the G2 class and we have qualified on pole for G2, starting from P11 on the whole Grid. Will we be able to keep up some distance to the #106 Corvette C5-R? Can we keep up with the GT class leaders and maybe even break into the top ten? Watch the video and see! :-)
Heel and toe sitting in a desk chair using standard G27 pedals was kinda hard, so my driving might be a tad sloppy in this one. AI was set to 105% and is really competitive when in clear air, however traffic is a bit difficult for them to manage as you might see in the video.
