Gtronic - The Aoki Files - Episode 44 (Interview) | Dim Mak Records
One of Belgium's hottest exports in dance, Gtronic caught up with Steve Aoki about his latest work. Titled the Strobo EP, it features two wholesome electro tracks that Steve himself says "it's four-on-the-floor, and it's hard, and it's dirty." One of the major ideas behind Gtronic's new effort is proving that he can explore into new territories, "just to share with people that (he) can do something else".
Breaking down the new EP, "Strobo" has a more open sound. The highlight is the warm mid section, which Gtronic describes as having "a lot of emotions attached to it". Not mentioning the signature Gtronic bass sound would be criminal however- the drop in "Strobo" is gritty and amped-up electro house at its finest. "The Parade" as told by Gtronic contains "dirty rave basslines," complimented by sweeping synths and a drum line that proves where the track gets its name. Gtronic and Steve Aoki are both psyched to reveal Gtronic's new sound on the Strobo EP, enticing both old fans and new.
