GTX 1660 Ti vs RX 590 in Far Cry 5: Ultra Settings Frame Rate Compassion GPU Test AMD, Nvidia 2019
GeForce GTX 1660 TI 3 GB on the way, TU116 core images. ASUS has listed in the Eurasian Economic Commission a large number of versions of the GeForce GTX 1660 TI 3 GB, a mid-range graphics card that will position a step below the GeForce GTX 1660 TI 6 GB.
Since we started talking about this graphics card we had the opportunity to differentiate two models, the GeForce GTX 1660 TI 3 GB and the 6 GB. However, the first confirmations were limited to the superior model, which ended up generating doubts about the real existence of the lower version.
Today there is no doubt, the list of ASUS is fully revealing and confirms, unofficially, that the GeForce GTX 1660 TI 3 GB not only exists, but also will have a strong presence in the market of gamma cards new generation media.
We are not clear if NVIDIA intends to repeat the approach we saw with the GTX 1060 3 GB and 6 GB or if it will perform a different approach with the GeForce GTX 1660 TI 3 GB and 6 GB. If what we saw in the generation based on Pascal is maintained, the differences between the two will not be limited to the graphic memory, but will also be extended to other elements, such as the total of active shaders and the number of texturing units. Then we explain it better, so there are no doubts.
The 3GB GTX 1060 has 1,152 shaders, 72 texture units, 48 raster units, 192-bit bus and 3 GB of GDDR5, specifications that contrast with the 1,280 shaders, 80 texture units, 48 raster units, bus of 192 bits and 6 GB of GDDR5 that mounts the GTX 1060 of 6 GB. Well, there's the big question, NVIDIA itself will repeat that approach or not with the GeForce GTX 1660 TI 3 GB and 6 GB
ASUS prepares one of the less powerful NVIDIA GTX 1660 Ti
Written. A new filtration has revealed that the manufacturer ASUS would be preparing models with 3 GB of VRAM for their next graphics cards NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti. Certainly, this fact is not something that we miss too much at this point, since it had been shuffled in the past that this model of graphics card could, as happened already with the current GeForce GTX 1060, reach the market, in several VRAM configurations.
The filtration comes from a document of the Eurasian Economic Committee (EEC), and it details all the models of the next NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti that the manufacturer plans to present. Or, at least, that there are plans to be developed. And, as we said at the beginning of the article, this would be the official confirmation that this new NVIDIA graphics would come to the market with two different VRAM capabilities. And, it is possible that even with different technical characteristics between both models, as it happens with the current GeForce GTX 1060.
In any case, this is something we will know next February 22 of this year, 2019, which is when the initial launch of this graphic card should be produced. It will be then when we will know the technical specifications of these new models that, this time, we believe that they are called to replace the current GTX 1060 of 3 and 6 GB of VRAM. Although, given the filtered prices of the GeForce GTX 1660 Ti, which are similar to those of the current GeForce RTX 2060, and widely above the cost of the graphics they intend to replace, we are not clear about how NVIDIA intends to position this new batch of graphic cards.
After several months since the release of the AMD RX 590 graphics cards, MSI decided to launch its ARMOR version, with dual fan cooling with 100 mm fans mounted on a double aluminum heatsink. Offering two variants of the model, MSI tries to reach the market by launching an affordable price.
These are two models offered by the assembler, the first called "Radeon RX 590 ARMOR 8GB" with a clock of 1545 MHz, and the factory overclocked version, the "Radeon RX 590 ARMOR 8GB OC" with 1565 MHz as standard (only 20 MHz more).
Both models share the rest of the specifications with an 8000 MHz VRAM running on a 256-bit bus, the already mentioned 8GB GDDR5, as well as 2 DisplayPort connections, 2x HDMI and a Dual Link DVI-D. With 2 8-pin connectors for its power, the GPU consumes 220W, and its PCI Express is 3.0 (x16).
The 590 is still based on the Polaris architecture, optimized in its manufacturing process since its launch in 2016 with the RX 480, its heart of silicon has been reduced from 14nm to the current 12nm manufactured on this chip.
The number of Stream Processors does not change, staying at 2304 SP, although after Polaris optimization 7.1 TeraFlops (FP32) are achieved. Its launch should be imminent at a suggested price of about € 275.
