3,300The Minecraft Survival Guide Season 3 continues in Minecraft 1.20.2!
In this tutorial we build a Guardian Farm in our drained Ocean Monument perimeter. Along with being a source of renewable prismarine and sea lanterns, this farm produces a ton of xp and free fish which can be eaten or traded to villagers!
This farm is a great showcase of some neat mechanics. We set up soul sand bubble columns in two large tanks which generate guardians, then deposit them in water streams which channel them to a central area. There, we drop guardians onto a patch of path blocks to prevent their laser attacks, and set up filtered storage for their various drops. The shards and crystals they drop will enable us to craft prismarine, prismarine bricks, dark prismarine (with black dye), and sea lanterns!
Along the way, we look at how to easily fill a large area of water using kelp blocks, how to set up flowing water streams across the top of a water tank using ice, and explore potential methods to avoid the guardians' thorns damage.
