Guardian War is a neat little Strategy-RPG for the 3DO and one of the few RPGs for the system. You are a Golem that is awakened by the Goddess of Light, Erel, to restore peace to the world and defeat Azrael, the Evil Lord. You journey across the land with the ability to awaken other Golems who will join your fight against evil. It has a very straightforward plot and a simple gameplay engine that's easy to follow.

The presentation is rather good for an RPG of its time and reminds me of titles like Mystaria/Riglord Saga (probably because some of the folks who worked on this helped with Mystaria). The game starts off a little slow, but the game is fairly entertaining in its entirety. You can get various items and special powers (including combination spells) and navigate dungeons and fields with the direction pad. When enemies are within proximity, characters take positions on the field and things become turn based. Enjoy.
