A great classic, repetitve Strategy game that's kinda unique and rather hilarious. This is the 3DO version of the game. As Chauncey, a timid young man raised by cows (and once a mere food server), you are given a sizeable amount of land from King Winthrop one day when you save his life with the Hiemlich Manuever (he was choking on something nasty). The only problem? The land you tend to is overrun by a vicious lot known as "The Horde", who come in many shapes and sizes. You'll be defending your property with clever traps, loyal troopers and the king's mighty sword passed down to you, the Grimthwhacker. This is the kind of game I think Monty Python would like (even the acting is Python-esque).

This game is broken down into two phases: A building phase and a battle phase. Each season, you're allowed to tend to the land which becomes more lovely and prosperous as time passes and with more locals. You can spend your gold on putting down trees and raising cows to receive additional money, lay traps to impede or kill the horde, hire troops, dig up foul plants, etc. During the battle phase, the horde will charge at you from all sides and you have to stop them. Your traps and large bodies of water will help, but they can't do all the work. You'll have to whack 'em too. The horde can destroy property, eat crops and even eat people. When this happens, you must kill them quickly in order to save what's left of the town. You can randomly get FMVs inbetween seasons where you'll get a random blessing or curse, from getting money that grows on trees from the king (a lot of free gold) and not having to pay taxes to a huge increase in the horde numbers! Enjoy.
