Hi Mimic Fans, I have completed nightmare mode in the mimic a few times. Nightmare mode is a gamemode for chapter 1 and 2 that has a few differences from the normal gamemode. Right now, nightmare mode can be played by walking into a cave between the chapter 1 and 2 lobbies. The difference of Mimic nightmare mode is that this gamemode gives you 1 life to complete the entire chapter. I will be focusing on chapter 1 this video. Another difference is that all monsters in nightmare mode have extra speed so it is harder to avoid these monsters in nightmare mode. Chapter 1 nightmare mode has 1 extra monster in the school gym. This monster can be avoided by sticking to the side wall while walking through the gym.
The hard parts in chapter 1 are the first maze and hotel maze. The cave monsters are similar but are slightly faster in nightmare mode. The first maze is a tough maze to follow and having an idea of the maze map will help alot while doing it. The key is required to open the exit and can be found by going left past some dead ends and reaching a large room with someone holding a key. The ghost makes a loud hum and footsteps if it is really close. The ghost can chase players anywhere but will usually give up chasing after a short time. After getting the key, backtrack to the entrance and also remember to listen for the ghost. The safest way to the exit of the first maze is to go far right and up the corridor to the right of the exit. This corridor is rarely camped but the ghost can always walk from the corridors in the middle of the maze.
The cave monsters and biwu ghost are not too hard to pass. Remember to get the cave key from the farmer's house. Try to go around these monsters as they are not as fast as the player. The hotel maze is the hardest part of chapter 1. There are 2 crawling ghosts who move fast and dont give up chasing easily. The way to complete this is to use different paths to the exit. The ghost sometimes camps the short way so a way around this is to go to the left and avoid the ghost. Hearing the ghost is the best way to avoid it.
