Raids are on farm and have to take as less time as possible. So... very few new ppl. get into raids because of the KP-mentality and more....

I guess the major issue is that you cant progress in raids because there is no progression in Guild wars 2. EOD might have increased the engagement of players with strikes due to the release of a handfull of strikes.
Maybe the only way for you to progress is if you detach yourself from the 'normal game' by just joining already established groups but exactly that drains you from the pool of new players and...and and...^^
