Guild Wars 2 The New Shatterer
7This is my first time taking on the New Shatterer. If you are expecting something similar to Tequatl you will be let down, it's not on that level. The battle just requires more CC for break bars, allows for some gliding options to hurt the boss and turrets matter more. You can also get a med kit and heal those on the turrets to help them in it.
Do note, I didn't read up on this much at all. I wasn't really watching too much news on this game lately. I just knew he could heal, gliding was a thing and the old safe spot is death now.
The main reason CC would be vital here is since the crystals he unleashes HEAL him, this is what prevented us from killing up way faster, we didn't have quite enough CC. The Shatter himself also has a break bar too and if you prevent him from flying by breaking him there is an achievement.
So it's pretty decent, not overly impressive. It's not quite as fun as something like the MoM battle was but I appreciate gliding being a factor now.
The rewards..I think I need to grind this guy more before I pass judgement on those. But I wasn't impressed, two guaranteed rares is ok though I guess but eh...probably faster ways of getting those. It was funny seeing people post random Ascended weapons they clearly didn't get from this event though in chat.
Also, sorry if I was talking funny this time, feeling a bit under the weather but still wanted to try my hand at this. I may revisit this sooner than later and bring a more CC heavy profession.
Also note, I believe I could have not been shot down if I went into stealth gliding, I have that mastery but didn't figure a Dragon Champion would fall for that, you figure they'd have better senses. The more you know.
What slowed us down here was mostly the healing and supposedly dead players reviving to waypoints were kicked out and made to update their games. Not sure if that part is true. But the new build was looming over us.
Despite this we still didn't fail so.. You won't find difficulty here, it's different. They might have overhyped it a bit in that regard.
I can't comment on Mesmer nerfs yet but I do like how providing boons and breaking defiance bars counts for rewards now.
