Guild Wars 2 Toypocalypse
7Aka Defense of the Dolyaks, a tower defense activity that....REALLY needs to allow for you to go in with premade groups/guild members. This activity isn't new but for some reason A-Net didn't program it to allow premade groups this time around.. It'd be much more fun since it uses the PVP system of hot-join, meaning sometimes you'll go into empty rooms of it, already completed rooms of it or with two Dolyaks dead at the start, etc. I can't say there were any ragers or anything actually no one really seems to talk it is pretty simple.
The ice walls and catapults are your best builds, with the snowmen being okish too. Don't bother with the skritt and mortars. You can get more materials by breaking things with your weapon skills.
Every other round Toxx will appear, she has a music queue as well so it's pretty easy to know when she's up. I personally like ranged weapons best but the candy smasher has some skills good for interrupting her. Leading her towards a bunch of your defenses will help just as long as it's not close to the Dolyaks. She will wreck the Dolyaks with AOE if she is allowed to get to them!
If you die you're better off just reviving. Don't ask for a rez it's not worth it since they don't give you much break time. Although if you keep dieing your respawn timer will take longer so just stay alive. It's not too bad. Heal up by going to the area with the Dolyaks for some slow regen.
Also note yeah, I dunno how this run took this long. Usually it's about twenty five minutes but...Perhaps it scales up based on how big your party is?
Also what got me in the video was the Gatling Fists I think but also watch out for Toxx's reflect which she does when she spins around much like Mesmer's reflect skill. She is not toying with you this time unlike the Tixx dungeon where you could take her out so easily. Just be sure she's away from the Dolyaks.
Lastly, I got it confused with 2012 once again XD since this is an old activity. There is no achievement this year for keeping all the Dolyaks alive. So I really don't understand why people just keep on randomly leaving at times...Might be around just for getting more toy kills.
