The Alex (CA) is a bit of a weird one for me. This suit has the looks and skills to be something incredibly tanky and can certainly be when it has high base defense stats and skills like active guard and maneuver armor level 2. It can choose between the Alex beam rifle or bazooka as a primary and has a great stun accumulation sub weapon. The range damage isn't great but these weapons do help you in approaching. You also have 2 melee weapons, one of which able to casually cause heavy staggers. The new Chobham skill is essentially the beam coating skill the Delta Gundam has but made for ballistic weapons instead. Not only do ballistic weapons do 50% less damage to you, but this skill will also nullify build up stun from them as well! However, once you reach half of your health, which would be 7500 initially, your ballistic resistance drops all the way down to ZERO. Keeping in mind you are a raid unit; this allows generals and even supports with ballistics to casually pop the remainder of your health like a balloon.

An issue I kept running into was survivability depending on the enemy team composition. 450 is chock full of BOTH ballistic and beam carrying suits. Common top generals like GM 3 powered or Jeddas will carry beams that will easily stun and punish you if you slip up or have moments where latency unfortunately doesn't favor you at a particular moment. Once you reach that 50% health point, you better not be around suits like the Kampfer or again the Jedda and such as they have the potential to immediately delete you.

The Alex (CA) can do well for itself, but it can be tough to do well when Chobham is a situational skill that will get you killed fast. As mentioned before, you do have some great weapons and skills to help you rush down or survive as much as possible but the Chobham skill kind of ruins the suit's experience for me. It makes the suit feel very inconsistent and I would rather play a raid that doesn't feel gimped when it reaches half health. I can still see someone picking this suit up and having some kind of fun with it and even doing well with it, admittedly. It still has great things on it and hey, feels good to combo someone and finish them off with a boot to the face lol.
