Here is a quick video on how the mordrem attacks work. There are 3 types of vine crawler spawners, each with a different mechanic.

One of them can only take damage from siege. There will be a hammer box near by, use the hammers to build and repair siege. Siege will be placed aiming at the spawner by default. Just use maximum power to hit the spawner.

Another spawner mechanic is it can only take damage from explosive pods. The pods are dropped by husks with a flashing bomb icon above them. Once the pod has been dropped, throw it at the dirt base of the spawner, hitting any higher will not do any damage.

The last spawner has flower shields spawn around it. Take out all the flower shields to do damage to the spawner.

Hopefully the bugs have been fixed and you get your reward.
