I said sub-1 was too much to bother with, but it was actually really easy. So much so, that I then grinded this for another many hundreds of attempts. I kept chasing a demo that would reasonably satisfy me, and this is good enough I guess, though it isn't perfect, there's no real major mistakes.

The hitscan and souls and infinite height at the sewers are probably the most frustrating parts of the run, but the things I really wish were fixed are getting a chaingun at some point earlier so I wouldn't be cooked by the chaingunner being in front in the second half of the sewers and being forced into an autoswitch and the end imps not being behind an opaque wall. I had a number of decent-looking runs in the 56-57 range that just didn't kill those imps, as there's no visual feedback to doing so (and I'm still not using extended HUD).

That said, most attempts fail because I can't get good shots in the sewers or just get blocked by the very first lost soul, which makes running this pretty frustrating over a long enough period of time. Still, it's fun enough to put some effort into, especially compared to some of the later maps I dealt with. :p The main remaining slight issues with the run for me are the zombies being a bit slow (not grouped up well, plus a slight amount of confusion about one zombie that must have died at the start of the run), and the ending still being a bit slow. The first sewers could be a bit faster too, but that's more RNG. Overall, though, it's a good improvement over my old time I think.
