.Hack//Versus - COM Battles [RPCS3 - 60fps]
COM vs. COM (Watch Mode) gameplay featuring 5 battles played on the PS3 emulator RPCS3 at 60fps on the highest difficulty.
Battles featured;
- Intro [00:00]
- Sora vs. Haseo [00:30]
- Sakuya vs. Black Rose [06:18]
- Kite vs. Ouan [09:33]
- Tsukasa vs. Tokio [13:15]
- Haseo vs. Ouan [17:04]
The game runs fine on RPCS3 at 60fps but I would recommend capping the framerate to 60fps.
My first experience with the Dot Hack series was the Legend of Twilight anime which I thought was okay. I didn't become a proper fan of the series until watching .Hack//Roots. As of 2023, I have pretty much seen all of the Dot Hack anime and even gave some of the PS2 games a go but I couldn't unfortunately get into them. I then found this game and was suprised that it had a COM vs. COM mode. Not many playable characters but still, as it's developed by CyberConnect2 there's a lot of fun to be had with this game. I remember watching the movie this was bundled with and remembering that the movie was just okay. The best Dot Hack anime I have seen in recent years in my opinion is .Hack//Quantum, which Sakuya (the protagonist of that anime) is a playable character in this game. If you want to give the Dot Hack series a go I would recommend either starting with .Hack//Roots or .Hack//Sign
As for the game itself, it reminds me of some kind of playable teaser. It plays like other arena fighters from CyberConnect2 with a few differences. I hope that CyberConnect2 come back to this game at some point and remaster it like they've done with the .Hack/G.U. Trilogy and more recently Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R.
As a side note (update);
I have recently tested some more games for COM vs. COM modes. I'm talking about it here as I feel it's relevent considering I've been talking about CyberConnect2. Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles unfortunately does not have this mode, so it will not be featured. I have also tested recently Dragon Ball FighterZ which also does not have this mode. I thought about testing Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot but I don't that game has a versus mode at all. Also both of the Dragon Ball Xenoverse games don't have any kind of offline versus modes.
I will continue to keep testing games and putting some updates in my COM vs. COM video's. I don't know how many people read these but they're here regardless if people want to know how things are going. Peace.
