Supergiant Games developed and published Hades, a roguelike action dungeon crawler computer game. It was launched on September 17, 2020, for Microsoft Windows, macOS, and Nintendo Switch, following an early access release in December 2018. August 13, 2021 was the release date for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
Players take control of Zagreus, Hades' son, as he seeks to escape the Underworld and ascend Mount Olympus, with the help of gifts bestowed on him by the Olympians. Each run takes the player through a different set of chambers, each with its own set of foes and rewards. The game employs a hack-and-slash combat system, in which the player uses a combination of their main weapon assault, dash power, and magic ability to fight enemies while avoiding harm in order to advance as far as possible. While Zagreus will frequently perish, the player can improve particular traits or earn new weapons and skills to boost their chances of surviving on following rounds. In this rogue-like dungeon crawler from the makers of Bastion, Transistor, and Pyre, defy the god of the dead as you hack and slash your way out of the Underworld. Hades is a god-like rogue-like dungeon crawler that combines the best elements of Supergiant's highly acclaimed games, including Bastion's fast-paced action, Transistor's rich atmosphere and depth, and Pyre's character-driven storytelling.
