Q. Why do you start off the same as in other videos?
A. Hades has a seed system that allows you to retry the same run multiple times. You must choose Give Up from the menu to retain the seed and get the same start over again. You will always get the same reward from the first chamber but there are a lot of factors that can change what is offered after this.
Q. Why do you cast before exiting a room some times?
A. This is a form of manipulation that helps keep the seed more consistent while also allowing us to choose what rewards/enemies we see. Through trial and error, we can map out a path that gives us exactly what we want by using the cast before exiting. We don't know why it works and there is some nuance to it but it's very useful for speedrunning.
Q. Why Explosive Return? Are other builds speedrun viable?
A. All of the weapons are quite well balanced at the moment, I think that Explosive Return just eeks out other builds because it is so much power in one upgrade: 60 base damage and an enormous AoE that synergizes with almost everything.
Q. Are there seedless speedruns?
A. There is no category on speedrun.com for seedless right now because it would be difficult to verify by the mods. We hope that the developers give us some tools to work with that will make this easier and allow more people to partake in the speedrunning community.
